Generating Effective Prompts for AI
In this module, you’ll learn about the key elements that make prompts clear and effective. You’ll discover how to structure prompts that guide AI tools to perform specific tasks and explore techniques for refining prompts when outputs don’t meet your needs.
Learning objectives
- Generate clear prompts for AI tools to perform specific tasks
- Refine prompts to improve the accuracy of AI outputs
- Generate effective prompts for completing task
Lessons
- Prompt generation
- Refining prompts for accuracy
- Generating task-based prompts
Module 9
5h
Refining AI Outputs for Clarity and Task Alignment
In this module, you’ll explore how to identify and address issues in AI-generated outputs. You’ll also learn how to refine your prompts to help AI produce outputs that are clearer, more accurate, and better aligned to your task, even when your starting prompt is already strong.
Learning objectives
- Determine the adjustments needed to improve AI responses
- Refine AI outputs for clarity to meet specific needs
- Refine AI-generated outputs to improve task alignment and effectiveness
Lessons
- Identifying and adjusting AI output issues
- Techniques for clearer AI outputs
- Refining AI-generated outputs to improve effectiveness
Module 10

Navigating AI Tools – A Selection Framework
In this module, you’ll learn how to compare AI tools based on their strengths and limitations. You’ll also explore the task requirements to evaluate the suitability of tools and use different evaluation criteria to select an appropriate tool that meets your needs.
Learning objectives
- Compare AI tools based on their strengths and limitations for everyday tasks
- Evaluate the suitability of an AI tool for specific everyday uses
- Recommend AI tools based on their appropriateness for task
Lessons
- Strengths and limitations of AI tools
- AI tool suitability
- AI tool evaluation and selection
Capstone project

Validate the Legal Workflows of an AI Deployment
In this capstone project, you will serve as an AI trainer for LumenAI, applying structured validation and deployment reasoning as you guide the law firm Harrison & Cole LLP in preparing their AI model for controlled legal pilot use.
Learning objectives
- Generate clear prompts for AI tools to perform specific tasks
- Refine prompts to improve the accuracy of AI outputs
- Generate effective prompts for completing tasks
- Determine the adjustments needed to improve AI responses
- Refine AI outputs for clarity to meet specific needs
- Refine AI-generated outputs to improve task alignment and effectiveness
- Compare AI tools based on their strengths and limitations for everyday tasks
- Evaluate the suitability of an AI tool for specific everyday uses
- Recommend AI tools based on their appropriateness for tasks
Assessment
- In a project, you’ll answer questions to demonstrate your ability to create a plan with AI tools and human collaboration to address a multidisciplinary challenge. You will receive feedback with the goal of passing the project with a score of 80%. If you do not earn 80% or more on the first try, you can retry the project as many times as you want.
- Then, you’ll complete a 10-question assessment to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you applied in the project. You must get 80% to pass. You will receive feedback and can retry the assessment if needed.
